Spica Marine Inspections are marine cargo surveyors with an emphasis on oil field exploration and mining projects. They are also involved heavily in underwriter requirements where possible insurance claims may be made. In addition to Spica’s traditional marine role they have become heavily involved in oilfield 3rd Party inspection work. All inspections are conducted by competent persons who hold relevant qualifications and have experience in their particular field.

1. NDE/NDT inspections. ASTM Level 2.

2. Offshore container (CCU) inspection to BSEN 12079 / DNV 2.7.1.

3. ISO Container condition inspections. I.I.C.L.

4. Lifting gear, wire, chain, webbing and shackle condition surveys. LEEA. LOLER ‘98

5. Visual body/thread inspection for casing / tubulars, drill pipe. API RP 7G DS-1,Cat 1-5.

6. Fork lift inspections. To LEEA and LOLER ’98.

7. PAT testing to OHSA Kenya. PUWER ‘98

8. Provision of quality PPE. EN ISO 11612 A1+A2, B1, C1. EN1149-5, CE. etc.

9. Consultancy services and representation.

10. Rig move supervision/warranty.

11. Vessel and barge load outs/discharges; approval of and recommendations for securing arrangements and towage approval. Surveillance of discharge of project cargoes, storage and securing arrangement prior to departure for onward destinations, whether by barge or truck.

12. Condition surveys of vessels/ barges. IMCA, CMID.

13. Marine control and superintendence.

14. Materials co-ordination and movement.

15. Issuance of reports
