Hajatiana Rasolomanana

Technical Advisor to the Minister
Presidency's Department in charge of Mines and Petroleum, Madagascar

An engineering officer and mining engineer by profession, Mr Hajatiana RASOLOMANANA has held various roles in the public and private sectors including: engineering foreman; head of asphalt production and quarries; construction manager; project engineer; and procurement manager.
In 2008, Mr Hajatiana RASOLOMANANA undertook an assignment with the Office des Mines Nationales et des Industries Stratégiques (OMNIS), which is MAINLY responsible for hydrocarbons. He deepened his experience in the extractives sector through short training courses, workshops and seminars, particularly in relation to oil management and upstream petroleum operations.

He obtained additional responsibilities as Assistant to the Director of Hydrocarbons and then Director of Laboratory. These roles were undertaken while he taught at the Ecole Polytechnique.
Till April 2015, he was Director General of Hydrocarbons whose role had a significant focus on development of strategies for implementation of the departmental policy regarding hydrocarbons, upstream and downstream sectors.

Mr Hajatiana RASOLOMANANA is currently Technical Advisor to the Minister in charge of Mining and Petroleum and mainly coordinates recasting work of petroleum texts including the Petroleum Code and its implementing rules. It is a real extensive work as the prerequisite to the success of the upcoming calls for tender relating to Madagascar oil blocks.
