Elly KaruhangaChairman of Uganda Chamber of Mines & Petroleum Hon Elly is the Chairman of Uganda Chamber of Mines & Petroleum, an organisation that seeks to promote and develop Uganda’s mining and petroleum operations and services. A founding partner of the leading firm Kampala Associated Advocates. Since 2005, Hon Elly has worked in a diplomatic capacity as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles to Uganda. He also serves on the boards of many companies, such as DFCU Bank, Nile Breweries (SABMiller), Interswitch Uganda limited, Equatorial Teak Company, Mweya Safari Lodge, Paraa Safari Lodge and and Chobe Safari Lodge. He served as a Member of Parliament for Nyabushozi County for 13 years. In Parliament, he served as Chairman of the Presidential and Foreign Affairs Committee. He was elected delegate on the Constitutional Assembly that promulgated the 1995 Uganda Constitution. |

Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi
Executive Director Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, Chairman of Global Event Partners (K) Ltd. Dr Kituyi is one of Kenya’s longest serving and highly respected politicians and the immediate former Member of Parliament for Kimilili constituency in Bungoma North District of Western Province, he also served as Minister for Trade and Industry and is currently the Director of the Kenya Institute for Governance. |

Galib Virani

Mr Virani joined the Company in 2005 following a career in the City of London in Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr Virani has played a key role in acquiring and growing the Company’s portfolio of oil and gas assets. In particular in 2010, he led the team that acquired Black Marlin giving the Company a foothold in East Africa. Mr Virani continues to play an active role on the East African portfolio as a Director of Afren East Africa Exploration. |

Osam IyahenSVP Oil Gas and Mining Africa Finance Corporation
Osam Iyahen is Senior Vice President for Oil, Gas & Mining at AFC. He is responsible for client coverage within the natural resources sector, in addition to providing technical advisory into transaction execution. Osam focuses on business development and strategic alliances in this sector for AFC across Sub-Saharan Africa. In this capacity, he has extensive experience in financing requirements for E&P’s in the region, as well as the challenges encountered by project sponsors and prospective financiers. Osam led the AFC team in the $20M equity investment in Seven Energy, a Nigeria-focused gas commercialization E&P, where he serves as a Non-Executive board member. Most recently, he led the $150M debt finance syndication for an indigenous Nigerian company’s acquisition of a Shell onshore asset in Nigeria. |
